The polish represents the uppermost layer of your vinyl or linoleum floors which serves as a protector from liquids penetration and staining. The procedure starts with stripping of previous worn out layer. Dry buffing is required when dealing with stains and deep scratches. Finally, three layers of polish are applied for a glossy and well-protected surface.
After vinyl and linoleum floors have been polished once, they need more regular maintenance than the once that have the original protective coating layer applied by the manufacturer during production. Once or twice a year is strongly recommended.
