Limestone, Marble, Slate Polishing & Restoration
The restoration of granite, marble, limestone and sandstone do not differ much. Despite the hardness of the granite all these stones go through a grinding and polishing processes.
Floor Preparation
During the preparation stage cracks are removed by floor grinding and levelling which results in flat stone floors removing deep scratches and stains.
Honing the Floors
Honing is floor restoration step which smoothes the stone surface with industrial diamonds getting rid of scratches and stains.
Hard Floor Polishing
Floor polishing gives shining effect to the stone floor. The diamonds used in the polishing process are the same as in honing but smaller graded. For marble floors in reasonably good condition a polishing may be able to return the luster of the stone.
Marble and Limestone Crystalisation
The crystallization facilitates a chemical reaction on the stone surface which creates the sheen as well as a micro film which is more solid and hard-wearing. Crystallization is recommended for regular stone maintenance.
