Wine Stain Removal
When a red wine spill occurs you need to act promptly and knowledgeably to prevent long term damage to your carpet. If you have scotch guarded the carpet in advance, it will slow down the absorption process and will give you extra time to handle the problem. Always start with blotting the excess moisture with a white clean absorbent cloth working form the periphery to the centre.
It is advisable to call-in professional carpet cleaners’ assistance as soon as possible to remove the stain with proper chemicals and professional equipment combined with the hot water extraction method. Synthetic carpets, except for nylon, will not absorb the wine which will ensure highest chance of complete stain removal. For wool and silk carpets, professional carpet cleaning is needed urgently in order to restore its previous condition and look. The hot water extraction method is successful in removing the wine built-up, but it is recommended to act quickly as the wine absorption in the fabric can settle in and colour the base of the carpet which may result in permanent colouring and shading of the carpet.
