Blood Stain Removal

As recommended by the National carpet cleaners Association it is good to have the following items at hand to prevent staining: clean white absorbent cloth, detergent vinegar solution- a teaspoonful of white vinegar added to the detergent solution which is prepared by mixing one teaspoonful of gentle detergent and half a pint of warm water, and ammonia solution (a mixture of one teaspoonful of branded household Ammonia with one cup of warm water.

Start with blunt knife if needed or blotting up any liquid excess while working from the outside towards the centre of the stain to avoid further spreading.  Before applying any cleaning solution test it on an unnoticeable area of carpet prior to treatment. Apply the detergent cleaning solution to the absorbent cloth and avoid over wetting backing materials of carpets. Stick to recommended dilution ratios of detergent solutions. Blot with dry cloths, apply the ammonia solution afterwards and blot with dry cloths. Rinse finally with a mixture of one to four parts white vinegar and water and apply it via spray bottle over the stained area. Remove excess by blotting. Spread white towel or absorbent cloth over the affected area and place a weight on top. Leave overnight and repeat the procedure if needed.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee of complete stain removal, but the correct first respond will give your professional carpet cleaners the utmost chance of success.
